Pictures Paint a Zillion Words
These are just various snapshots of how life would've been had you been watching me all this while (a la It's a Wonderful Life narration). I figured it beat me writing an autobiography.
Twas the whole point I started a webpage back in secondary school. I got sick of repeating my life story when people ask "So, where are you from?" ... do I say Taiwan or California? But then what about the Philippines? *scratches head* After all this time, I've finally reduced my story to "taiwan > philippines > california > sg > oz" if I'm typing. If i need to answer, I tell people I'm originally from Taiwan, period. =)
Growing Up chronicles my years in Taiwan, the Philippines and the States. It's a huge chunk of my life and personally, those were the best years of my life. I spent all of my time in Singapore thinking of "what ifs" if I hadn't left California. It drove me mad, my mom worried I had depression the first few months we moved there. Took me all this time to let go and now, my childhood days remain a bittersweet memory.
Singapore Fling gives a glimpse of the the people and things that made me smile during the time I was there. The singing... gawd, I miss that, especially the acapella.
Life Down-Under is probably going to be a neverending update of the happenings here in Australia, from the med gatherings to the very limited social life I have at the moment. Somehow, I don't see it improving in the near future tho.
Naruwan is Aboriginal for Taiwan and at the moment, there's a surge in Taiwan pride and going back to one's "roots" in a way. The tourism Board's been promoting Taiwan as Naruwan too. This section mainly contains glimpses of the family time I get when I go back to Taiwan during my summer holidays. I've attended a Tzuching camp while back there and it was an experience. Met lotsa wonderful people, saw lotsa of inspiring things especially at the hospital. ^^
Tinkerings are the little projects I've done along the way. Anything from last-minute bdae cards to bigger projects like stage design for choir musicals (I can't find those pix >.< ) are all there. I'm really into mixed media and the unconventional in terms of art. I've had my fill of drawing Disney. Just ask my mom ~ She used to make me draw Disney chars to amuse the other kids that used to come visit, or make me teach them how to draw. It didn't matter that one of us was unwilling to teach and the other was unwilling to learn.
Snip.Snaps show off the world through my eyes basically. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm no photography pro like some of my friends, but that doesn't stop me from tinkering!
